I recently heard a president-elect Barack Obama say "It is time to change.change have come to you".He wasn't saying any new thing.Everybody knows change is important. We say America is leader today and it's soon-to-become president wants "change" now. But, one man in idea have already noticed "need for change" and have identified it's crucialness.
My first post and that too a wisdom of knowledge from a wonderful book by our former president APJ Abdul Kalam.
While going through a book shelves in my local library ,i got my hands over this book and yes, basically, i chose it just by the name of writer. Came back to home ,made a hot cup of coffee (Obviously, as i was going to read such a great man's book and that too about "Ignited minds" ,at least,i should have something ignited.... ) , made myself comfortable & then began my quest for many questions. After around 3 hours or so, i finally flipped through last page of the book and i was searching for more.. but alas, there were none. Former president have explained everything in this book but still, at the end we bound to search for more.yes, such a good writing knack he have.Book's plot is managed very well ,we all can see scientific mind behind the book's plot. Everything is so well planned well suited by it's equivalent robust context.
APJ starts with "The dream and the message" with his famous quote
" Dream,Dream,Dream. Dream transform into thoughts and thoughts transform into actions".
He have covered every aspect of his dream in this book.He have an idea or i may say Vision 2020 for our country and he touches every part of his vision. It is a delightful journey through a visionary he met up while he was on a mission of oath.He says, youths are the real power and so their minds which must be ignited at the very staring stage. He gives a template for a role model to us in his second chapter. Then he covers up visionary teachers and scientists that he met during his journey till date which includes great scientists like Dr. Vikram Sarabhai ,Dr. Satish dhawan, Mathematician and noble prize winner C.V. Raman. While remembering his colleagues and "gurus" in his field ,he also touches the spiritual part of his vision 2020. According to him for the society to prosper there are two important needs: one is prosperity through wealth generation and other one is cherishing the "value" system of the people.Oh, what a good thought.I personally think value system is important in structuring young India. He also recognizes the "knowledge society" of India and speaks about it's strongness.
He really summarizes well in his last chapter "to my countrymen" with a message of ' integrated efforts'. He states the fact that besides having resources our progress is improportionate to them.I would like to end my post by a poem from his excellent collection.
Where the mind is without fear and head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
My father let my country awake.
